Says YOU there's a chill in the air... it's been humid hot here still. It normally cools off by now, but it hasn't quite gotten there yet. Oh, and when I say "cool" here, that means low 70s, maybe high 60s. Hurricane Season can be unpredictable.
Someone from my temp agency sent this in an e-mail. Might as well share it here.

Today is "Evaluate Your Life Day." So, tell us: how do you think you're life's going so far?
I wish Vox would have their grammar corrected on this question (I left it unedited to let everyone see it).
Anyway... how do I think my life's going so far? Not bad. Not great, but it's pretty good. Debt is still looming over me, so that's causing it to be not great. but I can only blame myself for that, so I live with it. It'll get fixed eventually, so things are good.
there is this filter that usually exists somewhere between my head and the rest of the world. it lets in somethings and lets out some things, but usually does a good job of keeping the peace. it broke today...
hopefully sleeping tonight will be as healing as they say it is...because i feel like a horrible person since about mid day.
now the interesting question is...is this really me? or is it a part of me that i have to learn to live with...

- Tsunami hitting Samoa and other islands... unexpected natural disasters suck, because... well, they are unexpected.
- Starting to feel a cold coming on. I have a performance on Friday night, and I can't be sick for it. Need to get better... need to stock up on the vitamins.
- Because I was starting to feel sick, I canceled my breathing test appointment. I had to schedule this breathing test about a month in advance, and now I have to cancel it or get an inaccurate result due to the sniffles.
- Not having enough time in each day.

- Getting praise from Dad on my playing. The person in the gagaku group who usually plays lead on one of the pieces will not be at the performance on Friday, so I get to do it. I've been practicing a little here and there with a recording of Togi-sensei, one of the gagaku masters in Japan. I'm trying to make sure that I practice the correct way, since my dad says the other guy who usually plays it, does so incorrectly.
- Finalizing the preparations for the concert. Sometimes I don't like having such responsibilities with the group, but if not me, who will do it?
- Having less than five minutes left of the work day.
- Feeling a little better after having hot ramen (with hot soup) for lunch. Normally, I go out to get Chinese Hot & Sour soup when I'm feeling sick, but I went for ramen instead (it's closer to where I work).
- Taking a break from a Community Band rehearsal. I like playing with the band, but it can get real tiresome to go to the rehearsals every week. This week, I decided to take a break, so I don't mess with my embouchure for gagaku.
Did you ever run away from home?
I don't do much running at all.
hulu was finally kind enough to allow me to watch the first episode of Glee. sometimes it is the smallest things that remind you about yourself. never having a good voice, i rarely sing anything for any reason...but this show reminds me of how much i love to hear singing and music.
volunteering at the community theater back in...a long time ago was such a busy but happy time for me. I got to see people perform and hear music and singing 3 nights a week for a month...4 times a year. Hiding up on the rail backstage...it was the best seat in the place to watch over everything and let the world wash away for a few hours.
the show tells me to do what i love...what ever that may be...yet i do not remember what that is anymore. i should start reading again i think...it has been a while.
something is missing. something i had before...i think...and it has gone away. unable to describe that which is lost, mostly because it is not something that can be found lying around on the ground, does not help the cause.
wow, thinking about stuff late at night is not a good pastime for me.
sacrifice or lack of strength
understanding or undecided
flexible or non committal
quiet or scared
determined or stubborn
the list can go on for a while...
hit another moment where i considered using my simple, basic, 3 step process to get through the confusion...
- find wall
- hit head against wall
- repeat step 1 and 2 until it makes sense or you are out cold
this was shortly followed by a wtf have i done in the last 12 years moment...which made me think about starting at step 1.
i am very happy for all of the wonderful people i have been lucky enough to know throughout my life so far, they are all doing well in their own way. with any luck i will continue to meet people that i can enjoy being around and learn something from. kinda wish i did well in a school environment...i think that could make a big difference in my life choices...
